In less than 2 years after its launch in the fall of 2016, the Sony PlayStation VR has introduced the virtual reality experience to the gaming industry. There is a vast selection of games available for the PS4 that have been specifically redesigned for it; some of them have even been created from the ground up for the PlayStation VR. The PSVR just needs the PS4 console to operate, unlike other VR headsets that required additional peripherals. We’ve rounded up the top 15 PSVR games you should be playing, so don’t worry if you’re on the fence about what titles are available to get the most out of the PSVR experience:

    1. RIGS : Mechanized Combat

Players compete against one another using future weapons and mechanised combat techniques in the violent first-person shooter RIGS by controlling mechanised robots, or rigs. Think of this as a hybrid of Titanfall and Unreal Tournament with double the enjoyment in virtual reality. In the Mechanized Combat League, a near-future sports league where pilot teams play against one another in actual locales, you participate in a number of sporting activities.

    First-person shooter / combat genre

    2. Resident Evil 7

    Purchase on Amazon: ($39.99)

By introducing a first-person perspective to the horror game genre, Resident Evil 7 expanded the genre’s boundaries. They went a step further by adding virtual reality to the game, which was already scary enough to earn them the title of scariest game of all time. Imagine yourself in this horror-house, engaged in inventory management, gruesome boss battles, puzzle-solving tasks, and the other gameplay elements that the Resident Evil series is known for. However, this time around, everything is presented to you in a stunning first-person setting.

    3. Farpoint

First-person survival horror is the genre.

    Purchase on Amazon ($48.99)

    4. Driveclub VR

In Farpoint, another first-person shooter for PlayStation VR, you battle alien species while looking for a crashed space station in the hopes of being able to return to Earth. The game is set in the background of an undiscovered extraterrestrial environment. The fluid-motion shooting action and the attention to even the most basic shooting mechanics are what make this game unique. While several games have been transferred to VR, Farpoint is a game that was specifically created for the PS4 VR. Any First-Person Shooter is sure to look better in VR.

    Genre: Adventure / First-Person Shooter

    5. Tumble VR

    Purchase on Amazon: ($39.99)

When Driveclub became the fifth best-selling PlayStation 4 game ever, it was clear that it was one of Sony’s best racing games ever developed. The same experience has essentially been transferred to the PlayStation 4 VR, allowing users to elevate the experience. Even though the aesthetics appear to have been a little toned down and smoothed out, the gameplay is still fantastic. For any fan of racing games, playing Driveclub in virtual reality will give you the authentic feeling of driving a race car.

    6. Batman Arkham VR

Racing genreGet it on Amazon for $29.99

Tumble is a game that takes a fairly straightforward idea and turns it into a compelling experience. The goal of the game is rather straightforward; basically, players must pick up the items in front of them and stack them on top of one another to create a linear pillar. Yes, it does resemble Jenga in some ways, but after playing for ten minutes, you realise it’s lot more unique and simply better. For only $9.99, it’s a no-brainer to try for anyone searching for a casual VR experience.

    Puzzle and simulation

    7. Battlezone

    Purchase on Amazon: ($9.99)

Admit it—you’ve all had the dream of being Batman at some point in your life. For fans of Batman in video games, Rocksteady’s Arkham series has essentially been the best thing to ever occur. While Arkham Knight was likely the series’ final official game, Rocksteady did release Arkham Batman VR for the PS4 VR to appease its fans. And indeed, this is the game that everyone has been waiting for.

    8. Star Wars Rogue One X-Wing

Batman VR allows users to enter inside the Batman universe while wearing Batman’s cape, analyse corpses, and battle foes in First-Person VR mode, all with a 90 minute time limit on playtime.

Give this game a shot if you’re a fan of Batman as well; you won’t be sorry.

    9. Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes

    Genre:Adventure

    Purchase on Amazon ($18.48)

    10. 100ft Robot Golf

The idea of vehicular warfare has always been quite enticing, and Battlezone implements the idea by using tanks. Imagine you and your adversaries in a plane-fighting arena, each of you inside a tank, firing lasers, rockets, and other specialised weaponry against one another. Everything about it, especially the First-Person view from inside the tank, works incredibly well with VR gaming.

    Real-Time Strategy / First-Person Shooter

    11. Until Dawn : Rush of Blood VR

    Purchase on Amazon: ($34.99)

Just a simple list of what you can do with the Rogue One VR includes flying your own X-Wing through an asteroid field, taking out waves of TIE fighters, and facing off against a gigantic Imperial Star Destroyer. Even if you’re not a fan of Star Wars, you’ll still appreciate the straightforward experience of cruising in space and shooting adversaries with laser cannons. Make sure to purchase Star Wars Battlefront as well because the 20-minute VR experience is an add-on.

    12. Rez Infinite VR

First-person shooter genreGet it from the PlayStation Store: (Free)

A game that can be played in a group is called “Keep Talking and Nobody Dies.” One player, the one donning the VR headset, will be the victim, imprisoned in a chamber with a timer-controlled explosive. The other players, known as the Experts, will be provided with a guidebook on how to defuse bombs, and they will be required to aid the victim in doing so. The problem? The experts are unable to see the bomb, thus they are unable to fully comprehend what is taking place. It’s unquestionably a game that provides an engaging experience that you can play with your buddies on a leisurely afternoon.

    13. The Playroom VR

    Genre:Simulation

Purchase from the PlayStation Store for $14.99.

    14. PlayStation VR Worlds

It is precisely what the name implies—100-foot robots are hitting golf balls around a park.

The purpose? Obviously, to get the ball into the hole. Well, duh, it’s golf, after all. Simply destroy any obstacles you come across, such as buildings or other structures, with your swing before continuing. You can play the game with your buddies in split-screen mode or online multiplayer. Additionally, you get to enjoy golf in all its virtual reality grandeur.

    15. GT Sport

SportsBuying from the PlayStation Store costs $19.99.

The horror genre has had to be one of the most significant applications of VR. Until Dawn Rush of Blood makes the most of the exhilarating experience of playing survival horror games in first-person virtual reality. Rush of Blood for PlayStation VR builds on the drama survival horror game Until Dawn for the PS4, immersing players in a full thrill journey within an amusement park while fighting terrifying adversaries with the wallop of First-Person. Those that enjoy the horror genre should definitely try this game.
