How to Apply the Best Armor Enchantments in Minecraft?

An enchanting table can be used to apply the majority of the enchantments on the list below. For instructions on how to create an enchanting table in Minecraft, refer to our comprehensive tutorial. Alternately, all of the enchantments on this list can be applied via enchanted books. To make things simple for you, we have also written a tutorial on how to use enchanted books in Minecraft. After clearing things out, let’s look at the top armour enchantments for 2022:

    1. Protection

One of the most fundamental enchantments in Minecraft is protection, which is applicable to every piece of your armour. As you can see, it shields you from all assaults, such as battle, lava, fire, and even falling. Check out the other specific sorts of protection first, though, before submitting an application. Remember that armour won’t shield you from hunger-related harm. With this enchantment’s four levels, you can receive up to 80% more damage protection.

    2. Blast Protection

Blast protection is rarely utilised until the battle with the Ender dragon towards the game’s conclusion. You are protected from blast-based assaults such as those caused by mobs, TNT, and even fireworks. Additionally, the blast knocks your character away through a phenomenon known as knockback, as you may already be aware of. Therefore, this enchantment also lessens knockback brought on by any explosion, at least in the Java edition.

    3. Projectile Protection

The Projectile Protection enchantment protects you from near-distant strikes, as its name implies. Arrows, tridents, shulker bullets, llama spit, flame fireballs, and ghast fireballs are a few examples. However, keep in mind that due to its restricted functionality, it is one of the least popular finest armour enchantments in Minecraft. Furthermore, it doesn’t defend you against specific attacks like splash potions, dragon fireballs, and fireworks.

    4. Fire Protection

The following armour enchantment functions similarly to the Potion of Fire Resistance. Any fire-based assault, such as lava, magma blocks, fire charges, flame fireballs, and, of course, fire itself, deals less damage when this effect is applied. For some reason though, this armour enchantment in Minecraft is unable to shield you from injury brought on by coming into contact with blazes or ghast fireballs.

    5. Feather Falling

The following item on our extensive list of the finest armour enchantments for Minecraft focuses on lowering one of the most common game damages. Yes, we are discussing damage from falls. This enchantment decreases the harm done by falling with up to four levels. Your rate of descent will remain constant, but the impact damage will be lessened. Unlike other protection enchantments, feather falling can only be used on footwear.

    6. Respiration

A helmet-based magic called respiration can prolong underwater breathing for up to 60 seconds. When used on a turtle shell helmet, you can gain an extra 10 seconds. However, an 8-minute Water Breathing Potion is even better if you want to spend more time exploring the underwater world.

    7. Thorns

Our next enchantment, moving past protection for the time being, focuses on combat. This enchantment in Minecraft harms anyone who harms you, playing off the idea of tit for tat. Any missile or melee attack has the potential to deal damage. However, the harm isn’t always repaired.

This enchantment has a 68% chance to deal reverse damage to the attacker at level 4. Yes, their attack still does damage to you, but at least you aren’t the only one. Wearing many items with this enchantment can improve your odds. Thorns also give the attacker a knockback, allowing you to flee.

    8. Depth Strider

Minecraft’s depth strider enchantment is only available on boots. You can travel faster underwater thanks to it. It functions by slowing down the rate at which the water pushes you back. There are three degrees of enchantment, and level three allows you to swim as quickly as you can walk on land. This can make it simple for you to explore oceans in Minecraft when used with an enchanted helmet.

This armour enchantment in Minecraft also has a status effect called Dolphin’s grace associated to it. If there is a dolphin nearby, you can swim even faster than usual. Although this sandbox game’s status indicator is functional in all versions, for some reason it can only be seen in the Java version.

    9. Aqua Affinity

You can enchant your helmets with Aqua Affinity when we are talking about the oceans. It accelerates your underwater mining when used. It often takes five times as long to mine while underwater. This enchantment only has one level, and it cannot be upgraded further. It can also be combined with other enchantments because it is a basic enchantment.

    10. Unbreaking

One of the best armour enchantments in Minecraft is called “Unbreaking,” and it appears on all durable items. This actually makes the object more durable. Technically speaking, though, it lessens the likelihood that the durability of your armour will decrease. The likelihood that the armour would become less durable is 30% lower at unbreaking’s maximum level of 3.

It is one of the simpler enchantments to locate in-game in comparison. However, it rarely works because you have to apply it to each piece of armour and each of your tools separately. For their shields or weapons, most players reserve unbreaking.

    11. Mending

If you don t encounter unbreaking or choose not to apply it, you can put the mending enchantment to good use. As the name implies, you can restore your armour in Minecraft using this enchantment. It restores some of the diminished durability of your armour. Like a few other enchantments, you can only apply it by using an anvil.

Whenever you get experience orbs, they automatically mend your broken armor pieces with mending applied to them. If you have multiple items with mending applied, Minecraft randomly chooses one to repair. It isn t the most productive way to repair, but it is effective with a smaller batch of items.

    12. Frost Walker

A majority of the best armor enchantments in Minecraft are exclusive to boots. But worry not, as the frost walker is one of the most unique enchantments in Minecraft. When activated, it lets youcreate ice blocks while walking over water. So, any water block immediately under your feet will turn into ice, whether you are on the ground or in the ocean.

If that isn t enough to impress you, it also provides immunity from damage caused by magma blocks and campfires. So keep in mind that you need to keep moving as the ice melts quickly. Though, you can expect it to last longer in cold biomes and at night. TheMinecraft 1.18 mountain seedsare a good place to try this enchantment.

    13. Soul Speed

Our next enchantment is a weird one. It s exclusive to boots, as the name suggests, and it allows you to walk faster. But it only works while you are walking on soul sand or soul soil. Both of these are exclusive to the Nether dimension. Probably, because of that, you can only find this enchantment in the Nether dimension. So, if you want to travel faster in the Nether, it s time tomake a Nether portal. It has 3 levels of speed, and each of them is similar to thePotion of Swiftness.

    14. Curse of Binding

Among the two curses that you can apply to armors in Minecraft, the curse of binding is the less punishing one. But the worst part is that you can t even remove it. With this curse, you can t remove any armor piece after wearing it. The only way toremove your armor with the curse of Binding is by death. Once you die, you can go back to that place to pick this item back up. Or, you can always wait for the item s durability to run out.

    15. Curse of Vanishing

Even with binding attached to it, you can die in survival gameplay and use your item normally. However, the curse of vanishingremoves your item when you die. It means that instead of dropping on the place of your death, it despawns out of the world. The only good use of this curse is if that other player can t steal your items in multiplayer mode.

Though, it s still wise not to add other enchantments to anything with a curse of vanishing. And just like any other curse, you can t remove it from your armor. Fortunately, neither curse of vanishing nor binding is common in the game. So, you don t have to worry too much.

    16. Swift Sneak

Part of theMinecraft 1.19 update, Swift Sneak is the only leggings-exclusive enchantment in the game. It allows players to walk at a higher pace while sneaking. Technically, there are 3 natural levels of this enchantment, each increasing your speed by 25%. The only way to obtain this enchantment is from the loot chests ofancient cities in the deep dark biome of Minecraft.

Try out the Best Minecraft Armor Enchantments

With the power of the best armor enchantments in Minecraft, you are ready to take on the most dangerous in-game mobs. But try to mix up things a little. You don t have to apply all enchantments to the same piece of armor in the game. For example, enabling different protection enchantments can reduce damage in various cases, even at a lower level. Not to forget, boot-exclusive enchantments like feather falling can be a lifesaver against fall damage. You can also use our list ofbest Minecraft potionsfor additional advantages.

Alternatively, you can also use thebest Minecraft modsfor some external help. But make sure toinstall Forge in Minecraftto run the mods with ease. With that out of the way, it s time for you to start discovering these best armor enchantments yourself. Most of them are not easy to find, so keep exploring.
