Today, Amazon India introduced a brand-new Advantage No Cost EMI programme for Prime members. The e-commerce behemoth has lengthened the period for using an EMI to pay for smartphones using this plan. Customers utilising HDFC Bank’s debit and credit card EMI payment options can access the programme, which needs an Amazon Prime subscription.
What makes this one different from the free EMI available on Amazon, you might be asking? The new plan gives you the option to spread out your EMI payments over a longer length of time without being charged interest. Although this theoretically saves you 50% on your monthly EMI, you will still be responsible for paying the whole amount. The only difference is that you won’t have as much of a burden each month. For a comparison of no-cost EMI for Prime and non-Prime members, see the graphic below.
On smartphones made by Apple, Samsung, and Oppo, you may take advantage of Amazon’s Advantage no-cost EMI plan. Not all phones, though, have the same duration. While Oppo phones predominate in the 12-month timeframe, the iPhone 12 series is available with a 9-month EMI option. The complete list of smartphones included in the programme is available here.
How to Avail Amazon s Advantage no-cost EMI
On a product’s page, choose EMI choices to take advantage of this programme. Check the box labelled “View just No Cost EMI choices” to only see alternatives that offer no-cost EMI after you arrive. Now that you’ve determined the duration that best fits your budget, you may check out.
For those searching for an example, here is the free choice I received for the iPhone 12 Mini’s 256GB model without registering into my Amazon account:
And this is what I discovered on my Amazon account, which has a Prime membership. There is a new 9 month EMI option for testing out the same handset, as you can see below. Depending on the monthly payment you are comfortable with, you can select the one that best suits your needs.
As previously stated, HDFC Bank Credit and Debit Card EMI is currently the only option for Amazon’s Advantage no-cost EMI. If you don’t already have one, you may sign up for Amazon Prime for Rs. 129 per month or Rs. 999 per year.
