How far can India go down? Among others, that is the question that is currently in our faces. People come together in the face of disaster, but this time, India’s response to the most recent human rights tragedy is, to put it mildly, repulsive.
A Sickening Trend
Today, a few social media posts highlighted something that appeared to be fake news at first. On Xvideos, the most popular porn site in India, Asifa is trending.
This is the worst it can be and might be the lowest India can go.
EDITOR S NOTE: Contrary to rumors, there are no videos on Asifa s death on any porn site. Asifa is trending as a search term on some sites, For As Yet Unknown Reasons.
.
What do we do with the thousands of people who appear to have searched for her on Xvideos after at least one bank employee in India was sacked last week for celebrating Asifa’s death?
India’s apathy toward the deceased is not unusual; the suffering and agony are typically forgotten after a month. A few candlelight vigils won’t alter how most Indians feel about or treat women in day-to-day interactions. Included in this is their response to the most significant incident of violence against women in India.
One would assume that the rape and murder of an 8-year-old would be regarded with the deference and animosity it merits. However, this response is a death blow to anyone who had hoped that India would soon make progress on issues like women’s rights, child abuse, and xenophobia. The atrocity of this most recent scandal earned all of India’s wrath.
Xvideos and XNXX Connection
Asifa was the second most popular trend in Pakistan and the top trend on Xvideos in India at the time this article was written. It ranked third among trends in Bangladesh. We also looked for hot subjects in other nations like Sri Lanka, Germany, Russia, and the United States, but none of these locations revealed the search word as a trend.
Establishing linkages between internet chatter to identify the source of a specific viral video or new trend is one of the disciplines that is now seeing an explosion.
Naturally, many are curious about the origin of the Asifa fad on Xvideos. Why is a more pressing query.
When you click on the Asifa trend or the search result for Asifa, only one video is displayed. Both the name and the tag for Asifa are absent from the video. We analysed the page’s complete source code using Google Chrome, and the only place where Asifa is mentioned is in the referrer URL from the search results page.
Therefore, we were curious as to why Xvideos was returning this movie as a search result.
Our attempts to access Xvideos were unsuccessful. The only way to report the Asifa trend is by entering a search URL, which the company’s content takedown form did not allow us to do. Only URLs for videos or profiles were acceptable.
We attempted to report the video that was displayed in the search results, but Xvideo blocked our attempts and the error messages stated that the video had allegedly been posted by a Verified User and could not, therefore, be reported.
Questions for Xvideos
When attempting to report the content on Xvideo, an error notice appears.
The ownership of Xvideos is notoriously hazy; it is registered to a Polish company called WGCZ Holdings, whose owners are listed as Stephane Michael Pacaud and Deborah Malorie Pacaud in court documents. These individuals are also responsible for XNXX, as this excellent The Next Web investigation revealed.
