If you are a Lays-consuming, lying-on-the-couch, Netflix-binge-watcher like I am, you may be accustomed to the distinctive ta-dum sound that appears whenever a Netflix series or movie begins. You might be surprised to learn that the renowned music composer Hans Zimmer actually extended that intro for the digital medium.
According to recent sources, Netflix hired the composer to write a new entrance after he created some classics for films including Inception, Interstellar, the Dark Knight series, and Gladiator. The 3-second mark was chosen as the starting point for the extension of the intro sound.
There is nothing wrong with the recognisable ta-dum sound right now. In reality, that audio is still present for all of the Netflix movies and television series that are accessible on the website. The digital streaming behemoth nevertheless produced this introduction, especially for movies and television shows that premiere on huge screens and for individuals that attend film festivals. It seems that a 3-second entrance sound is insufficient for big screens.
Therefore, Zimmer used his own Hans Zimmer magic to create a new intro sound for Netflix. You can view the brand-new 16-second video on the tweet provided by individual investor Siqi Chen (@blader) in the section below.
The Netflix “ta-dum” soundmark is one of the all time greats, but doesn’t work as well in a theater because it’s only 3 seconds long.
So Netflix commissioned Hans Zimmer to extend it for theaters and it’s so good.pic.twitter.com/RGw26vCAGY

The song itself is a good piece of work, much like Zimmer’s other songs.
It begins off deep and heavy before rising gradually and adding more orchestrated instruments for an epic finish.
There are currently no reports of this new intro appearing on the website for movies and TV shows on the digital platform. However, after hearing this fresh introduction, I have my doubts about the familiar and utterly adored one.
