The new Bandwidth Saver mode, which enables you to watch three times as much video with the same amount of data, is among the nicest features of Android TV. On many Android TVs, the feature debuted along with the Android 9 upgrade. However, even if you are not using the aforementioned version, you may still obtain this feature on your TV by installing a straightforward app. Users with restricted WiFi data plans or those who tether mobile hotspots to stream content on TV would benefit greatly from this. Therefore, use the straightforward instructions below to enable Data Saver mode on any Android TV.

Enable Data Saver Mode on Any Android TV

    1. The Data Saver option for Android TVs running Android 9 or higher can be easily enabled from the Settings page. Open Settings and select Network & Internet.

    2. Data Saver is located here, directly underneath your WiFi network. Launch it.

    3. From here, you can turn on Data Saver mode and establish data warnings for your Android TV. When your data consumption reaches the predetermined limit, you will receive a toast message.

    4. If your Android TV does not already have a built-in Data Saver mode, you can download an app to add one. Google just introduced the function via the Android TV Data Saver app (Free). On TVs running Android 8 and higher, it can be installed. Simply search for this app in the Play Store on your Android TV.

You can download and instal the app via APKMirror if it isn’t accessible on the Play Store (Free). Find out how to sideload applications on Android TV.

    5. On the same Settings page as the Data Saver mode, open the app after installation. Access Data Saver by going to Settings -> Network & Internet. Now that you are streaming video on your Android TV, go ahead and save data.

Turn on Data Saver Mode and Consume More with Less Data

So, using just a toggle, you can turn on Data Saver mode on Android TV. Google has taken on the challenge of decoupling this crucial feature into an app because Android TV upgrades are patchy and heavily dependent on device manufacturers. The app should function properly even if you are not using the most recent version of Android. That’s all we have to say, though. By reading our linked instructions, you can discover additional tips and tricks for Android TV, including how to fix WiFi problems, remap the remote, instal Google Duo, and more.
