How to Hide Images from Photos Widget in iOS 14 on iPhone and iPad

The Photos widget and Smart Stack are my top choices out of the few stock widgets that have been included to iOS 14. Featured photographs are automatically chosen by the home screen widget, which cycles among them so you can see your memories right from the home screen. Even though I truly like the widget, I wish there was some human control over the types of photographs that should or shouldn’t be shown. If you have used this widget, you may also be trying to figure out how to hide photos from the Photos widget on your iPhone or iPad running iOS 14. It turns out that there are a few practical methods you may use to prevent specific images from appearing in the home screen widget.

Hide Pics from Photos Widget in iOS 14 on iPhone and iPad: 2 Methods Explained

You can choose to hide all of your private photographs behind a shield so that they don’t show up in the Photos widget, or you can choose to remove specific images from the Photos widget based on your needs. It all depends on your preference as to which approach is preferable.

I would advise hiding your personal photographs if you want complete control over them. However, using the deleting method would be the best option if you only wanted to keep a few particular photographs hidden.

Remove Specific Images from Photos Widget on iPhone and iPad

You can easily remove particular photographs from the Photos widget if you are fine with the majority of them but only want to get rid of a few.

    1. Tap on the image in the Photos widget.

    2. The Photos app will now be displayed to you. Click the “Share” button.

    3. After that, select the Share Sheet’s Remove from Featured Photos option.

The end! The Photos widget won’t show this picture in the future.

    Note:

    • It s worth noting that the Photos widget displays featured images. So, if you want to keep certain featured images away from the home screen widget, go to the For You tab -> Featured Photos. Now, find the image you wish to hide and then hit the Share button. Finally, select the Remove from Featured Photos option.
    • Bear in mind that if you remove all the featured images, the Photos widget will display the first image from the Memories section which is also located in the For You tab.

Hide All the Images You Don t Want to Show Up in the Photos Widget

As said above, if you want complete control over every single one of your personal photographs and never want them to display in the home screen widget because of privacy concerns, this method should be your first choice.

    1. Launch the Photos app and select all the images you want to hide. Simply, tap on the Select option and then choose your images as usual.

    2. Next, click Hide in the share sheet by tapping the Share icon.

    3. Next, select Photos in the Settings app. Last but not least, turn on the switch just next to Hidden Album.

Keep Certain Images Away from Photos Widget with Ease on iOS/iPadOS

That being the case, you can prevent some of your personal photos from appearing in the Photos widget. Even if the home screen widget itself should have allowed for manual image management or the ability to display only particular images, I believe the aforementioned tips provide more than just make up for the lack of such functionality.

As we’re talking about the Photos app, I’d like to draw your attention to other articles that are relevant, like how to filter photos, sort images and videos, and control third-party access to the Photos app. If you want to modify the stock photo app, look them up.
