The messaging juggernaut, which is owned by Meta, has been working to make it simpler to use WhatsApp on different devices (without internet on the primary device) and to move WhatsApp conversations from Android to iPhone. However, over the past year or so, individuals have begun to prioritise their online privacy. The business has been compelled to reconsider its privacy policy, and it is currently developing new features to meet these demands. Now, a typical complaint with WhatsApp is that you always appear online, even if you only use the app for a little while. Additionally, it gives the impression that you are online and accessible for discussion when you may not actually be. It’s simpler than you would think to appear offline on WhatsApp if you’re having this problem. How to hide your last seen and online status when conversing on WhatsApp is covered in this guide. Let’s get started because it will protect your privacy and deter prying eyes.

Use Zen Mode 2.0 on OnePlus Phones

This guide includes step-by-step instructions and illustrations on how to disable WhatsApp’s last seen and online statuses. You can even utilise the unauthorised function we’ve introduced to WhatsApp Web to hide your online status. Check out the strategy that best suits your needs using the chart below.

What Is Zen Mode 2.0 and How to Access It?

You must first figure out how to disable WhatsApp’s last seen status before you can hide your online status in the messaging service. And here is how that procedure goes:

New Features of Zen Mode 2.0

    • Updated UI
    • Increased Time Duration Settings
    • White Noise Tones
    • Group Zen Mode

    Updated UI

    1. Tap the ellipses (three dot) icon in the top right corner of WhatsApp once it is open. Then choose Settings from the menu.

    Ocean and Space themes
    Grassland and Sunrise themes
    Meditation theme

    Increased Time Duration Settings

    2. Next, access the last seen status setting by going to Account -> Privacy.

    White Noise Tones

    3. Select the Online Privacy and Last Seen settings now. Then, to prevent anyone from knowing when you were last online on the messaging app, choose Nobody under the Who can see my last seen option.

Note: Another option is My contacts except. option if you want to display the last time you saw certain contacts in your contacts list.

    Group Zen Mode

You may now pick who can see whether you are online or not on WhatsApp after learning how to hide the last seen time on your account. Here’s how to appear offline to everyone on WhatsApp while yet being able to text anybody you want:

Only WhatsApp beta testers on Android and iOS currently have access to the option to hide your online status. On the OnePlus 9RT running Android 12.1, we used WhatsApp version 2.22.21.12 for the purposes of this guide.

Utilize Zen Mode 2.0 to Disconnect from Your OnePlus Phone

You can now find a new option called Who can see when I’m online on the same settings page as the Last Seen status. All you have to do is choose “Same as last seen here.”
