To assist clients with a variety of banking needs while the country is in lockdown, ICICI Bank has introduced online banking services via WhatsApp. Customers will be able to view their credit card limit, latest three transactions, and savings account amount via WhatsApp as part of the initiative. According to the company’s press release, they will also receive information about pre-approved fast loan offers and be able to block and unblock credit and debit cards in a safe manner using end-to-end encryption for all messages.
Mr. Anup Bagchi, Executive Director of ICICI Bank, commented on the effort, saying, “It has always been our endeavour to deliver better convenience to our consumers.” We launched this service on WhatsApp, one of the most widely used instant messaging services worldwide. Our retail customers can complete a variety of their banking tasks without going to a branch on their own. Both the services and their security are immediate. We think that this would be a huge convenience for our consumers because it allows them to bank while they are on social media, especially given the growing importance of social media in daily life.

All ICICI Bank savings account holders and credit card holders who have a WhatsApp account can utilise the service, which will be available 24/7. According to the business, non-ICICI Bank customers can also utilise this service to find out where the bank’s branches and ATMs are located in their area.
Customers must send a Hi to ICICI Bank’s verified WhatsApp profile number, 9324953001, in order to use the service. Customers interested in using the new feature can also visit the official ICICI WhatsApp Banking website for further information. Upon receiving the text, ICICI Bank will send a secure and interactive menu outlining all the possibilities.
