Many new features have recently been put through testing by WhatsApp with its beta users on Android and iOS. Over the past month or two, it has released the advanced search feature, animated sticker packs, and other features. ShareChat, an Indian social media site, now supports picture-in-picture mode thanks to WhatsApp.
This feature, which was first mentioned by renowned tipster WABetaInfo, has been under development for about two months.
In addition to Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, ShareChat now supports picture-in-picture mode. As a result, if someone were to send you a ShareChat video, you would be able to watch it via WhatsApp in a floating window. You can resume texting your friend or using the messaging app while the video keeps playing over the chat window.
Picture-in-picture mode is supported for ShareChat videos with iOS release #2.20.81.3 and later and Android beta build #2.20.197.7 and higher. Even though I’m using Android beta build #2.20.197.11, the app integration doesn’t appear to be live for me. Perhaps you’ve already seen the floating video in other applications, but we’ve included a screenshot just in case.
The most recent iOS beta (version #2.20.90.21) also made public a brand-new feature that is currently under development in addition to the ShareChat integration. It is referred to as multi-wallpaper and will let you set various wallpapers for various chat windows. This is a really basic function that WhatsApp ought to have already, but it doesn’t.
