New OnePlus TV Remote Adds Netflix Button; Here’s How to Get it For Free

A recent update for the OnePlus TV included compatibility for the Netflix app. This update was eagerly anticipated because it finally enables Netflix streaming on your OnePlus TV (see out our favourite Netflix movies, TV shows, animated series, original series, and more). But what’s even better is that OnePlus released a brand-new, significantly improved remote control in conjunction with this upgrade.

Recall the stylish OnePlus TV remote, which at first attracted everyone’s attention but is infamous for being really annoying to operate. Its design was awkward, and it lacked a volume rocker on the edge and a mute button. The massive Chinese company appears to have launched a new remote control after considering the numerous reports.

The new remote control, known as the Netflix Remote, has a more conventional appearance. At the very top, it has the OnePlus (long-press to turn off TV) and mute buttons. The D-Pad, the back and home buttons, the volume control keys, and a separate Google Assistant button are all found after that. Now, this is a much better location for the volume button.

Finally, OnePlus has introduced keys specifically for inputs, Netflix, Prime Video, and YouTube. Users will find it easier to use these buttons to access all of the pre-installed apps and begin watching their preferred content. Although I did enjoy the old OnePlus TV remote’s elegant design, the new remote seems to provide a friendlier and more comprehensive experience.

When orders start shipping in the next few weeks, OnePlus plans to replace the original slim control that came with its Android TV with the Netflix Remote. In the future, the TV would also ship with the Netflix app already installed.

You can now obtain the updated remote control for free if you already possess a OnePlus TV and want it. You only need to adhere to the processes outlined below and pay the necessary fees:

You must first locate your OnePlus TV serial number. To view the serial number, go to Settings -> More Settings -> About -> Status.

    2. Click this link to access the Devices section of your OnePlus account where you may validate your OnePlus TV. The serial number you obtained in the first step must now be entered here.

    3. You will receive the Invitation Code for the new Netflix Remote once your OnePlus TV has been validated. With proper redemption, you can receive the free remote control in about 5 days.

The Netflix remote that comes with the new update is proof that OnePlus is one of those businesses that values customer input highly.
