If you recall, we exclusively announced last week that the OnePlus 5T Lava Red model would be arriving in India later in January. The Chinese juggernaut appears to have opted to let the cat out of the bag earlier than we had anticipated. The fashionable OnePlus 5T in Lava Red colour has officially been released by OnePlus in India for Rs 37,999.

The Chinese company is continuing to exclusively debut its new red coloured model on Amazon India, demonstrating the continued strength of their long-standing collaboration. On Amazon, the OnePlus 5T Lava Red edition listing is now active, and you can sign up right away to receive notifications when the device goes on sale on January 20.

OnePlus has lately experimented with a number of hues on its flagship OnePlus 5T device, for those who have been living under a rock. The Midnight Black edition was the only colour available when it was first released. The White Sandstone for the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Lava Red for its fourth anniversary in China are just two examples of the new hues that have since been added to the palette to commemorate important occasions.

Following countless requests and cries from its Indian fan base, the Chinese juggernaut has agreed to release the OnePlus 5T in red. Finally, it is here to seduce everyone who has been considering choosing a stylish red device rather than a basic black one.

In order to ensure the texture and in-hand feel of its product, OnePlus has taken to its community forums to describe the two-step anodic oxidation method required to verify the Lava Red edition is official for India. The Chinese superpower has also clarified the meaning of the colour red and its name, as follows:

Inspired by the dynamic nature of lava with colors that change under different types of light, the radiant Lava Red color shade is achieved through (the) accurate combination of temperature, consistency and baking time with less than 0.01% variation.

Regarding the device’s aesthetics, you’ll see that the front bezels are still black, but the rear cover, frame, and fingerprint sensor have been painted red. To help them stand out against the red, the OnePlus logo and camera protrusion on the back are still painted black.

You will receive the most advanced model of the original OnePlus 5T, which has 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The rest of the specification sheet is identical to the first version. You can quickly review the specifications page here to learn more:

The price of the OnePlus 5T Lava Red limited edition is exactly what we predicted it would be. In China, the red version of the product was made available for the same suggested retail price as the white version. In India, the business has priced the Lava Red model at Rs 37,999, continuing the same trend.
