We had hoped that Samsung would continue to release the Fan Edition, or FE, version of its Galaxy S series when the Galaxy S22 FE was introduced this year. According to a recent source, Samsung is reportedly preparing to cancel its launch plans, thus this may no longer be the case.

No Galaxy S22 FE This Year?

According to The Elec, Samsung will likely unveil the Galaxy S22 Ultra rather than the Galaxy S22 FE. The continuous chip scarcity problem is the reason the company wants to concentrate on its higher-end S22 Ultra. Remember that back in June, a similar bit of information surfaced. However, the cause was different!

The Galaxy S22 FE is rumoured to have been designed by Samsung with a 3 million unit production goal and the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU as the other S22 versions. The company wants to create additional Galaxy S22 Ultras, but the chip scarcity prevents it from concentrating on another product. The phone is thought to be more lucrative.

According to the source, the business sold more than its projected 10 million Galaxy S22 Ultra units for the entire year, selling an estimated 10 million units in the first half of 2022. It makes more sense for Samsung to assign the chip to the S22 Ultra as a result.

Recall that the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC was also anticipated to power the Galaxy S22 FE, although it’s possible that won’t be the case.

This does not, however, imply that Samsung is completely abandoning the Galaxy FE smartphones. The Galaxy S23 FE is still anticipated to ship next year, and 3 million devices are anticipated to be produced for this. The business anticipates producing 13 million units for the Galaxy S23 Ultra, 6.5 million units for the Galaxy S23+, and 8.5 million units for the remaining Galaxy S23 variants.

It is recommended to take these claims with a grain of salt as they are unconfirmed and to wait to hear from Samsung before acting on them. Once we have more information, we will let you know more about this. So, pay attention and let us know in the comments below how you would feel if Samsung didn’t release the Galaxy S22 FE.
