The Flappy Bird game in Android 5.0 Lollipop and the Neko Atsume cat-collecting easter egg in Android 7.0 Nougat are just two examples of how Google has always been really interested integrating easter eggs in Android. The latter was a game for assessing patients that required luring computer-generated cats into eating served meals. It was an easter egg that was added to Android Nougat that was incredibly entertaining and cool, and it appears that the same has been done for Android Oreo as well.
When he updated his handset to Android Oreo, a Reddit user found that the Nougat easter egg was still accessible in the notification area. After some time, the empty plate appeared in the notification shade, and he could still trick cats into eating the treats that were there. Additionally, he had access to the whole list of cats he had lured in the game.
Despite having updated my original Pixel to Android Oreo months prior, I was unable to find the Nougat easter egg. But I later discovered that it might be because I flashed the Pixel (or Nexus, for you!) before the update or forgot to activate Nougat’s easter egg before updating to Android Oreo.
You shouldn’t worry if you’re having the same problem. By using the steps in this step-by-step tutorial, you can still find the Nougat easter egg:
1. On your Oreo-powered device, install a specialised launcher, such as Action launcher (Free). Long-press the homescreen and select the widget for “activities.” The.neko.NekoActivationActivity shortcut must now be chosen and added to the homescreen.
2. To enable the function, touch the Android Easter Egg shortcut that has been created on your device. The very bottom of the screen will show a cat emoji, indicating that the cat collection easter egg is now accessible on your device.
3. Now that the notification shade is open, you can swipe down to alter its contents. To do so, press the pencil icon in the notification shade’s bottom right corner. The Android Easter Egg option will now appear if you scroll all the way to the bottom of the edit screen.
4. You’ll notice an empty dish where you may place four different varieties of food to lure the cat once you move the Nougat easter egg game widget to the notification shade. You can pick among biscuit treats, fish, poultry, or food bits.
5. You are informed that the food you put on the empty dish attracted a virtual cat. As you can see here, when I put a fish in the water, Cat #777 approached me. This is a simple game that doesn’t require much attention but is nonetheless enjoyable.
You may either long-press on the empty dish icon in the notification shade to observe the kitties you’ve attracted, or you can create a new widget (this time for the.neko.NekoLand activity) by following the steps outlined above.

I currently just have one cat, but I’m going to start working right away to attract more. You should also strive to gather as many cats as you can because this baiting game is a terrific way to pass the time. Does your Pixel or Nexus running Oreo have the Nougat easter egg? If not, do you intend to turn this feature on? Tell us in the comments section below.
