Bitstrips, a Canadian business that Snapchat purportedly purchased for $100 million last year, is the company behind Bitmoji. Previously, you could use Bitmoji to make a cute, cartoonish version of your photo that you could send to pals using messaging services like Facebook Messenger. But now that Snapchat has purchased Bitmoji, it wants to fully incorporate it into its fleeting chat application. Bitmoji avatars can now be sent to contacts or added as stickers to regular photos. Despite the excitement around it, some passengers have been unable to board the Bitmoji train. So today I’m going to explain what Bitmoji is and how to utilise it on Snapchat. Shall we get started, then?
What is Bitmoji?
An software called Bitmoji is accessible on Android, iOS, and Chrome. The main feature of the app is the ability to make your own own emoji or avatar and share it with other apps. Sounds really easy, don’t you think?
The actual strength of Bitmoji, though, is in how many modification choices are offered, allowing you to pick from a wide variety of styles and settle on the one you really prefer. This is the reason why Bitmoji could look a lot like you in real life. (Occasionally, even cuter!) It’s a fantastic method to spice up the plain appearance of the basic emojis. I’ll explain how to make a Bitmoji utilising the enormous variety of options in the part after this.
How to Make a Bitmoji?
It’s quite easy to create a Bitmoji. You can touch on any of the hundreds of pre-made Bitmojis displayed when the app first launches and share them on WhatsApp, Twitter, Instagram, and other social networking platforms. If you’re feeling creative, you can alter your own avatar, which will update all the Bitmojis with your new appearance.
- To make your own Bitmoji, tap on the edit option as shown below:
- You ll be presented with a Bitmoji style and a Bitstrips style. You can tap on the one you like.
- From here on, there are hundreds of options to customize each and every face detail hair style, eyebrows, nose, facial hear and a lot more. Oh, and it doesn t just stop there. If you re feeling fancy, you can even select from a wide range of glasses, headgear you name it. After you re done, you can just tap the right mark to continue.
- As if that was not enough, you can even flaunt your avatar with custom dresses from brands like Forever21, Foot Locker, Steve Maden and more. To dress-up, just tap on the T-shirt icon, choose an outfit and you re good to go.
You’ve now successfully designed your very own unique Bitmoji avatar. You can now see that the Bitmojis around the app have been updated to reflect the avatar you made.
Using Bitmoji on Different Platforms
You must create an account using your email address, Snapchat, or Facebook before you can start using Bitmoji. After logging back in, simply tap on any avatar to choose the app you wish to share to. However, utilising the Bitmoji keyboard is a more practical approach to share your Bitmoji.
Go to Settings>Language & Input on your Android device to enable the Bitmoji keyboard. The option to activate a different keyboard might be located elsewhere if your phone has a manufacturer-specific skin, like MIUI. Look around in the settings, and you should be able to find it.
Before you can start using the keyboard on iOS, you must enable it and give access. To add a keyboard, go to Settings>General>Keyboard>Keyboards.
SelectBitmoji. On Bitmoji, select Full Access by tapping it.
To switch to the Bitmoji keyboard, simply tap the globe icon.
By touching on the Bitmojis from the keyboard, you can now share them instantly. Excellent convenience, no?
Where You Can Use Bitmojis
You may share your avatars on WhatsApp, iMessages, Hangouts, etc. with the Bitmoji keyboard. By just tapping one on the Bitmoji keyboard, you may send a Bitmoji on Android. If Bitmoji is not supported by the app, a notification stating that Bitmoji is incompatible with the current app will be displayed.
The first tap on iOS transfers it to the clipboard, where it may subsequently be pasted (thanks to Apple’s limitations!) into any text field you desire. You can immediately share the avatar from within the Bitmoji app if, in the unlikely event that the app doesn’t enable pasting.
The Bitmoji copy and paste button is an addition made by the Chrome addon. You can now easily incorporate a Bitmoji into any email thanks to the addition of a specific button in Gmail.
Additionally, it contains an iMessage app that allows users to send avatars without the need to paste them. This obviously only applies to iOS-based smartphones.
Pro tip: You can store a Bitmoji app image to your gallery for later usage on both Android and iOS. Tap the avatar and choose Save Image/Save to accomplish this.
