Undoubtedly one of the most eagerly awaited launches of the year is the Xbox One X. Having excellent raw specifications, it undoubtedly gives the user a lot to think about in terms of performance. Xbox One X Enhanced is one of the Xbox One X’s most striking characteristics. Many people are unsure of how this interacts with 4K and HDR, as well as whether or not all games support these settings. Do not worry, though, as we will explain what Xbox One X Enhanced is and what it actually means for the gaming industry in the following paragraphs.

What is Xbox One X Enhanced?

Xbox One X Enhanced isn’t actually a feature; it’s just a tag that a game has been given. It translates to indicate that the game’s developer team made an attempt to enable the game to utilise the Xbox One X’s powerful processing capacity. According to Albert Penello, Xbox’s official marketing manager, it’s just a straightforward method for users to realise that this game is performing in a unique way on the Xbox One X.

The Xbox One X console’s capabilities can be used however the developers see fit for their games. The game may be enhanced for Xbox One X, 4K, or HDR depending on the player’s preferences.

What s the Difference Between 4K, HDR, and Xbox One X Enhanced?

In essence, Xbox One X Enhanced is a platform tag, giving game creators a variety of implementation options. However, not all Xbox One X Enhanced games will be in 4K or HDR. The Xbox One X Enhanced is all about the console’s support, not the other way around. On the other side, the characteristics that the games support are 4K and HDR. Different game creators may opt to incorporate it in different ways.

For instance, Rise of the Tomb Raider will have a variety of game types. There will be an enhanced mode with more sophisticated textures and lusher surroundings. A 4K native mode will also be included in the game. The 4K assets that Gears of War previously displayed on the PC edition will be used to upgrade the game. Consequently, the game is forced to run in 4K. Forza Motorsport 7, another Xbox Exclusive, will push the envelope with native 4k at 60 frames per second and high-resolution textures. Games will therefore take various paths, but they all fall under the category of Xbox One X Enhanced.

What All Games Will Support Xbox One X Enhanced?

At this time, Microsoft has formally confirmed that more than 100 games would be improved for the Xbox One X. The user base already has the majority of these games. Therefore, the user’s pre-owned games will automatically receive the new features for free the moment they move to the next-generation Xbox One X. Additionally, because Xbox One X Enhanced is essentially a tag for resources that are accessible, whenever game developers opt to update their current games, users will also receive the update for free.

Microsoft has made it simpler for customers who choose a digital disc, even though the company claims that the games will have tags for what features they are employing when they are purchased from the digital store. The team will update their packaging to include the new Xbox One X Enhanced, 4K, and HDR logos. As a result, it is clearly visible on the game box when you buy it from a local retailer.

    What If I Don t Have a 4K Display?

Even if everything above sounds fantastic, it’s possible that you still use a 1080p display and aren’t ready to upgrade to a 4K one just yet. Does the Xbox One X seem like a worthwhile upgrade to you in that situation? Absolutely! Supersampling, one of the key technologies that Microsoft built into the Xbox One X, essentially downscales all of the 4K data and image quality to a 1080p screen. Therefore, even though they are not displaying it in native 4K, customers with 1080p televisions will still benefit from the enhanced graphics, faster framerates, and higher quality pictures. A 1080p supersampled image actually performs far better than a native 1080p image.

Additionally, the Xbox One X has a 50% quicker hard drive. Quicker load times result directly from this. Additionally, even if certain games might not have the Xbox One X Enhanced label, they will nonetheless gain access to the X’s resources. There are many benefits to upgrading to the Xbox One X even if you haven’t yet purchased a 4K TV.
