Now that they can create and arrange catalogues using its desktop client, WhatsApp Business users may manage their product catalogues directly from their PCs. In addition, the messaging behemoth unveiled a new function that enables store owners to hide unavailable products from their inventory and then re-unhide them when they become available.
Catalog Management on WhatsApp Business Desktop
In case you were unaware, WhatsApp first made the catalogue feature available to its corporate users in 2019. Later, the company added sharing support and QR codes to the functionality to improve it. But up until today, the function was exclusive to WhatsApp’s mobile platform. Via:Gadgets360
According to WhatsApp, this will be very beneficial for companies with large inventories, such restaurants or apparel stores, as it will allow them to manage their catalogue from a larger screen.
Hide/Unhide Items from Catalog
The Facebook-owned company has added a hide/unhide functionality for products in catalogues in addition to introducing catalogue management to its desktop client. As a result, WhatsApp business users can now conceal certain things or a large number of items from clients when they’re not available. Once they are once again accessible, they can also unhide them.
The new capability is accessible to WhatsApp Business users through Settings -> Business tools -> Catalog. Here, users can hide one or more unavailable goods from a catalogue. When an item is hidden, it still shows up in the catalogue manager with a tiny hide icon next to its name.
Additionally, consumers can reveal hidden products by visiting the product detail page when they become available once more. By pressing and holding one of the hidden things until the green checkboxes show up, you can also reveal many items at once.
Both functionalities are now being made available to all WhatsApp Business users worldwide. Additionally, WhatsApp hopes that these two updates will improve the interaction between customers and small companies that utilise its network.
