In addition to the numerous new features that WhatsApp is reportedly testing (and which may eventually be released), the Meta-owned messaging service is now developing a revised camera user interface for its iOS version. Here are some examples of the upcoming adjustments.
WhatsApp for iOS Getting New Camera UI
According to a recent report from WABetaInfo, WhatsApp for iOS beta version 2.22.4.72 includes a new camera user interface. It will bring about a few small adjustments. To begin with, the new camera UI won’t display the horizontal media bar that allows users to rapidly upload or transmit media.
Instead, a new button in the bottom left corner of the revised user interface will lead users to the Photos app on their phone, where they may select the image or video they want to share with friends or post as a Status. This little adjustment will come in handy if you don’t want individuals in your immediate vicinity to be able to view the contents of your gallery.
The updated switch camera symbol that is shown in the bottom right corner is another change to anticipate. Users can use this feature to flip between the front and rear cameras’ perspectives. More updates to the WhatsApp camera are anticipated, and they may also be made to the Android version of the app.
New Caption View in Tow Too
Additionally, a new Caption View for iOS users is being tested by WhatsApp. The updated Caption View will display a list of the contacts who have access to the posted Status.
Additionally, users will be able to post files from a specific WhatsApp chat as Status. This will expand on the current feature that enables users to upload images or videos captured by WhatsApp’s built-in camera as Status updates. The function is still being developed, and it is unclear when iOS and Android users will be able to utilise it.
More features are also being tested by WhatsApp, including a new Communities area, a worldwide media player for both mobile and desktop users, message reactions, and a tonne more. All of these new features should soon be accessible to the broader public, in our opinion. Please share your opinions on the aforementioned changes coming to WhatsApp in the meanwhile!
