The ability to react to a WhatsApp Status has been anticipated ever since WhatsApp added the ability to do so in April. Reacting to WhatsApp’s version of Stories is now a reality, along with a few other new features that were reported to be in the pipeline. Look at the specifics.
WhatsApp Status Reactions Now Official
Status Reactions have been added to WhatsApp as a result of a recent update that was made available to users of both Android and iOS. This will resemble how one may respond to Facebook Stories or even Instagram Stories.
There are currently eight emoji variations available: Smiling Face with Heart-Eyes, Face with Joy Tears, Face with Open Mouth, Crying Face, Folded Hands, Clapping Hands, Party Popper, and Hundred Points.
The feature is already active and should soon be available to everyone. It worked with both iPhones and Android phones. To see what this looks like, look at the screenshots below.
Remember that when WhatsApp first launched, there were just a few alternatives for message reactions. As a result, WhatsApp later added the opportunity to reply to messages with any emoji. As a result, we may anticipate Status experiencing the same outcome. However, given that Instagram doesn’t support emoji reactions for Stories, there’s a chance the Meta-owned messaging app won’t get one either.
In addition to this, WhatsApp has included Call Links. The ability to generate links to calls, similar to how it’s done on Google Meet and Zoom, was just introduced and enables users to make it simple for others to join group calls.
There are some new group controls as well; before, this capability was being beta-tested. Now, only group admins will be allowed to remove messages on behalf of others and they will be the only ones to know if someone leaves a group. Users will also have a little window of time to undo a delete for me.
