WhatsApp tested new playback control tools for audio communications earlier this year on its messaging platform. Later, the business made the feature available to all users, and now WhatsApp has begun rolling out the much-appreciated feature that enables users to preview their voice messages before sending them.
The industry leader in messaging announced the new audio message preview feature on Twitter. The business tweeted an amusing animated video that illustrated the pain of recording a voice message incorrectly, then having to re-record it numerous times before getting it right.
Now, although that can still happen, even with the preview voice message feature, users will now be able to listen to their voice messages before sending the final message. You can check out the announcement tweet right below.
How Does It Work?
In order to hear a preview of their audio messages, users must record them on WhatsApp while using a hands-free device. Therefore, you can move your finger upward to enter the hands-free mode after tapping the microphone symbol to record your voice message. You wouldn’t have to hold down the microphone symbol to capture your voice in this manner.
A new stop button will appear in the centre once you are in hands-free mode. By using this button, you can pause the recording and hear a preview of the voice message you just created.
Here, you can hit the play button to hear the message preview, the trash can button to delete the message, or the send button to send the message to the intended recipient.
It’s important to note that WhatsApp is the first Meta app to provide this type of audio message preview capability. Despite the fact that Meta’s other apps, such as Facebook Messenger and Instagram, let users lock the microphone for hands-free mode recording, they do not offer a preview of the recorded voice message prior to transmitting it.
Regarding the feature’s accessibility, it has begun to roll out to all Android and iOS users. Therefore, I’m sure you would be excited to use the audio message preview option if you often use WhatsApp and send voice messages to friends and family. Please share your opinions about it in the comments section. Please let us know if you think Meta should add this capability to its other messaging apps as well.
