WhatsApp Now Starts Rolling out New “Unread Chats” Filter

The new Unread Chats filter, which will further streamline chats, was among the several features that WhatsApp tested. The function, which debuted in a beta release in June, is now being made available to all users. Here are some specifics.

WhatsApp s Unread Chats Filter Now Official

The unread chats will now be displayed by a new filter in the WhatsApp iOS app and Web version. This choice is located above the search field. Another option to clear the filter will also become available after the unread messages are displayed.

The new filter joins other media filters already in use, such as those for photos, GIFs, links, videos, documents, and audio. The new filter was visible on both the web and an iPhone. It is rumoured to be accessible to Android users as well, although it is not yet. We anticipate Android users will gradually start to see the new Unread Chats filter.

Simply press the new Filter symbol next to the search box on iOS or the Web to see the unread chats. Android users can do this by tapping the search bar, followed by the Unread Chats option. This filter will further arrange the WhatsApp chats and assist you in finding messages that you overlooked reading and responding to. You may see an example of it below.

Please let us know in the comments below whether you have started to see WhatsApp’s new Unread Chats filter.

Additionally, WhatsApp is testing the capability for users to message themselves on connected devices. When the multi-device mode is enabled, this feature isn’t currently accessible. Also being tested on the Meta-owned messaging platform are group admins’ abilities to delete other users’ messages and the ability to view Status updates via the chat list!
