Following a number of beta tests, WhatsApp has now begun rolling out its long-awaited multi-device feature to all users. Starting today, all WhatsApp users will be able to utilise the platform on up to four different devices independently by utilising the multi-device functionality. Check all the information right here.

    WhatsApp Multi-Device Support Rolling Out

WhatsApp has begun pushing out its long-awaited multi-device feature to all Android and iOS users after keeping it in beta for the longest period. As a result, you won’t need to keep your main smartphone constantly linked to an active internet network in order to use WhatsApp on up to 4 devices.

Recall that because the feature was in beta, users had to freely opt-in to utilise it. That’s no longer the case, though. Regardless of platform or OS, users may easily connect additional devices to their WhatsApp account using their primary smartphone and utilise the messaging service on any of those gadgets (tablet, laptop, or computer).

How to Use WhatsApp Multi-Device Feature?

You must to update your app to the most recent version from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store if you want to use WhatsApp’s multi-device feature. These instructions will help you connect a device to your WhatsApp account after updating the programme. Now, it’s important to note that I’m using an iOS device to show you how to do it.

    • Head to the Settings (from the bottom navigation bar on iOS and by tapping the three-dot menu in the top right corner on Android) in WhatsApp and select the Linked Devices option.
    • To link a new device, tap the Link a Device button to initiate the process.

Keep WhatsApp’s desktop app or web client open on the device you’re connected before you link it to your WhatsApp account.

    • The app might ask for your phone password to verify your identity and will open a QR-code scanner.
    • Point the scanner towards the provided QR code on the device that you are linking and voila! It s done. You can read an in-depth guide on how to use the multi-device feature in WhatsApp to connect and use different devices independently.

On the page under Linked Devices, you can now see the device that you linked. Up to four devices can be connected to your WhatsApp account, as was previously noted, and they will all appear in the relevant section. You can unlink certain devices by logging out of them from this location.

The feature needed to be properly developed by WhatsApp to accommodate a variety of platforms, which took months. In an interview from earlier last year, WhatsApp CEO Will Cathcart described the technological difficulties encountered when implementing the functionality. But it’s finally here with us. What do you think of WhatsApp’s multi-device functionality? Is it not going to be really beneficial? Please share your opinions in the section below.
