In 2022, a variety of new features for users are anticipated from WhatsApp. As of the most recent WhatsApp beta update (v 2.22.1.1) for iOS, the messaging service has begun showing people’s profile images in message alerts, which was the first anticipated feature of the year.
WhatsApp Profile Photos Notifications

WhatsApp is testing profile images in notifications, and some iOS beta testers have already seen this, according to WaBetaInfo. When someone sends a message, this capability will show their profile image in the notice. Both individual and group WhatsApp conversation alerts will include DPs, making it simpler for you to distinguish between the senders.
Similar to how Twitter displays the profile picture of a user who sends a message or reacts to a tweet, this function will also display the user’s photo. Even Snapchat has a similar interface and notifies users with Bitmoji. Check out this functionality in action right here thanks to Anmol from our team who was able to test it out in WhatsApp beta on his iPhone X:
It’s important to keep in mind that not all iOS beta users can see this, but WhatsApp plans to soon make it available to all of them. It is anticipated to shortly reach non-beta users as well as Android users.
For those who are unaware, WhatsApp will also likely soon roll out a revised Contact Info page for both Android and iOS users that will resemble the contacts part of the native iOS device. Additionally, customers should be able to look for neighbouring establishments like shops, salons, and more.
Additionally, the messaging platform owned by Meta may introduce Communities to allow group administrators to have more control over their groups and connect with other administrators to create larger groups.
