For both its Android and iOS apps, WhatsApp has been working on a number of new features and enhancements. According to recent reports, the well-known messaging service intends to have a new contact information page, business-specific search filters, and more. Here’s a preview of what to anticipate.
Upcoming WhatsApp Features
New contact Info Page in WhatsApp
WABetaInfo
Recently, it was discovered that WhatsApp intends to update the Contact Info tab for users on both iOS and Android. However, it’s anticipated that Android users will get it later. A screenshot of the alleged Contact Info page, which alluded to a page like the Business Info page the business introduced with a prior beta update for iOS, has been shared.
Search Filters for Businesses
Although users may access and alter their WhatsApp status from this page, the redesignedContact Info page still bears a resemblance to the default contactcards on iOS. Additionally, the new Contact Info page has a new Search shortcut button that, presumably, will allow users to search for media, texts, and other items exchanged with a WhatsApp contact.
Another source claims that WhatsApp will soon add a new feature that would function as a business directory within the app and allow users to search for nearby companies within the app. For those who are unaware, WhatsApp began testing its capacity to search for businesses earlier this year in Brazil.
A new interface that allows customers to filter neighbouring companies is allegedly being tested. This will make searching easier and allow you to look into more local businesses. The image directly below shows a preview of the redesigned user interface.
WhatsApp Group Community
As you can see, users will soon be able to utilise pre-set filters like Grocery Store, Restaurant, Clothing, and more to search for particular types of business accounts on WhatsApp. Although a release date for the feature is not yet known, it is expected to be made accessible at some point for both iOS and Android users.
Furthermore, group administrators will soon be able to construct communities of groups in WhatsApp, according to expectations. In WhatsApp, a community is a private space for groups where group administrators have more authority over the users. Additionally, they will be able to connect their current groups with nearby towns to form a larger group.
It has since been discovered in the most recent WhatsApp beta release (v2.22.1.1) for iOS, which was originally discovered on WhatsApp beta for Android (v2.21.25.17). This suggests that the feature can go live soon. It is still being developed, and there is no word on when it will be accessible, according to WABetaInfo.
