WhatsApp to Restrict You from Saving Photos and Videos in Disappearing Messages Chat

To protect user privacy and add a little fun, WhatsApp introduced the option to send disappearing images and messages. Although the material in a chat is supposed to disappear after a given amount of time, you can still save it to your smartphone, thus the privacy aspect isn’t totally handled correctly. This won’t be the case anymore because WhatsApp is currently testing a new feature to stop this. Here are some specifics.

WhatsApp Testing a New Update for Disappearing Media

According to a recent report from WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is now testing changes to media visibility on both Android and iOS, which will prevent media from being automatically saved to a smartphone during disappearing chats.

According to a shared screenshot, the save to camera roll and media visibility options will soon be disabled by default on Android and iOS, respectively. This will make sure the goal of disappearing messages and media is ultimately achieved and users may enjoy a more private platform experience. A look at this.

Media of a vanishing nature won’t be saved to your device if the disappearing messages function is enabled. However, it’s important to remember that you can still manually save the media. Additionally, you can turn off fading messages to enable auto-save if you don’t want to do it manually.

There is no information on when this new function will be available to the general public, but it is currently being beta-tested for both Android and iOS.

It is an addition to the most recent WhatsApp test, which prohibits users from concurrently sent a message to multiple WhatsApp groups. In order to prevent group chat spam, this is being done. What do you think of the new feature WhatsApp is testing? Tell us in the comments section below!
