You can already remove a message that was sent accidentally in WhatsApp. So, it only makes things easy if a message was sent to the incorrect chat and you can easily Delete for Everyone. And now, it is aiming to add a new function that would enable you to undo the action when you unintentionally delete a message. Here are some specifics.
WhatsApp Working on an Undo Option
Whatsapp is developing an undo feature for messages that have been erased on your behalf, according to WABetaInfo. This indicates that you will have a brief window of time to reverse this action if you choose the Delete for me option and later decide to modify it.
If a message is erased, according to a shared screenshot, there will be an undo button at the bottom of the screen that can be clicked to recover the message. This is comparable to the ability to undo a number of Gmail activities. With this, you may decide whether to keep a message or remove it for everyone in a group conversation or an individual one. Look at the screenshot that follows.
We are unsure, though, if this functionality will apply to all deleted messages or just those that have been erased for you. It makes more sense to enable it for all deleted messages since it is possible to delete a message by accident and having to type it again can be troublesome.
There is reportedly no information on the release date for both the beta and public customers because this feature is still being developed. Therefore, it can take some time before it is made available to consumers.
Additionally, WhatsApp is testing a new feature that will let you edit a message that has already been delivered. If you accidentally send the erroneous message and don’t want to erase it and retype it, this will again be helpful. It is unknown when this will be available to users as it is still in development.
Message reactions, the Communities area, the option to make audio calls with up to 32 people, and the 2GB media restriction are all recent additions to the Meta-owned messaging platform. We anticipate that many of the features being tested this year will become official. We’ll keep you informed. Stay tuned and don’t forget to comment below with your thoughts on the undo option.
