In order to enhance user experience, WhatsApp is known to routinely add cool new features to its messaging software. There haven’t been many recent enhancements, but WhatsApp Status may soon gain a new feature that will clear the Stories-like pane of clutter and make it more accessible to more users.
If you are familiar with WhatsApp, you are aware that you may choose to silence any status update by holding down the long-press key. This will replace the recent updates part with a new muted updates section where the tale of that contact will now appear in a grayed-out condition.
As a result, your feed will be clogged with muted Status updates if many of your contacts publish Status updates and you’ve muted the majority of them. Well, according to well-known WhatsApp tipster WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on a clever little fix for this issue. In the upcoming weeks, users will have the option to hide muted status updates. You will see a new hide option next to the header for muted updates, as shown in the photos above. By doing the same, you’ll get a neater Status view and the list of muted updates will vanish from the Status window (collapsed and hidden). Since Status views aren’t concealed, it will be easier to highlight updates from only the persons you’re interested in connecting with.
You must press the display option in the header to perform both actions if you wish to recover muffled updates and unmute someone. It’s a straightforward feature that will be quite helpful for non-Status users who would value having tidy Status panels.
This feature is currently under development and will likely become available soon. In addition, it is known that WhatsApp is working on a dark style, the ability to post Status changes to Facebook simultaneously, and a QR code-based quick contact addition feature.
