Zuckerberg Confirms 3 New Features Coming to WhatsApp Very Soon

During its F8 developer conference, Facebook made no mention of new consumer-focused WhatsApp features. But now, WhatsApp will soon get three new features, according to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

Reputable tipper WABetaInfo recently had a chance to speak with Zuckerberg and WhatsApp CEO Will Cathcart. Disappearing Mode and View Once, two new features coming to WhatsApp soon, were mentioned by Zuckerberg during the chat. Additionally, we received word that WhatsApp will begin beta-testing multi-device capabilities over the next weeks.

Three New Features Coming to WhatsApp

    1. Disappearing Mode

The user will be able to enable the capability of disappearing messages for all new talks starting with the Disappearing Mode. For those who are unaware, WhatsApp began rolling out the disappearing messages feature in November of last year. This feature automatically deletes texts from a chat after 7 days. Additionally, we lately observed that the business is trying a brand-new 24-hour alternative for the self-destructing communications. Image Courtesy: WABetaInfo

    2. View Once Photos/ Videos

The recipients of your WhatsApp messages will only be able to view the photo or video you send them once if the View Once option is turned on. Once you open the message that contains the image or video, it will automatically leave the chat. The fact that WhatsApp would allow users to screenshot these transient media files, however, is disappointing. The sender has no means of knowing if the recipient secretly downloaded their picture or video. Image Courtesy: WABetaInfo

We’re ready to start rolling out see once, so you can send content and have it disappear after the recipient views it, Zuckerberg added. This feature will further strengthen WhatsApp’s main objective of creating a private and secure messaging platform.

    3. Multi-Device Support

Now, taking advantage of the circumstance, WABetaInfo questioned the executives on the advancement of WhatsApp’s much awaited multi-device compatibility. Will Cathcart responded by saying that when your primary device is not online, it has been a significant technical issue to get all the communications to sync correctly between devices. According to Cathcart, the business has found a solution and will push out multi-device capability for WhatsApp beta users in the next two months.

After that, you can use WhatsApp on different platforms without having to connect your main device to the internet. Additionally, it will enable WhatsApp to add iPad functionality and allow you to link up to four devices to your account.

These are a few of the brand-new features that WhatsApp will undoubtedly get in the upcoming months. So, which characteristic has your attention the most? Please share your opinions in the section below.
